Process development for injection molding of nano composites for the series production of tailor-made micro- and macro components

Krämer Engineering is a partner in this cooperation project sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

In this project, an injection molding process chain for nano composites is developed. A simulation mold will be produced in this process, which will take aspects of both micro and filling particles into consideration.
By use of an "intelligent", modular injection mold with a new heat and cooling system, a hotrunner system and an optimized sensor position, changeover times and materials consumption will be reduced, and the homogeneity of the nano composite as well as the surface quality will be improved.
In combination with the choice of suitable filling particles, functionalised micro and macro parts can be manufactured at a favorable price from nano composites by use of standard injection mold machines.
